The Venue

Thorskog Castle

Thorskog Castle (Thorskogs Slott) dates back to 1249 and the castle itself was built in 1892. It is not a castle in the traditional sense. Swedish often use the word "slott" for grand historic manor houses and estates, a word that is commonly translated into English as "castle".

The castle was carefully restored in the 1970s by the artist Mirjam Sköld, who revived its interiors and reinstated many of its original furnishings. Guest rooms are located both inside the castle and in the adjacent building, which stands on the site of the former mill and smithy.

Free activities include free access to sauna, billiards, darts, board games, boules, kubb, croquet, pitch and putting course and hiking/jogging trails in Svartedalen Nature Reserve.

Toastmaster

Photo coming soon

In Sweden, a toastmaster is a host who guides guests through the wedding festivities by introducing speeches and games, keeping the schedule on track, and making sure everyone knows what's happening next.

Placeholder text introducing our toastmaster, who will be guiding us through the day's celebrations. More details to follow soon.

The Attire

Dress code inspiration

Garden cocktail or garden formal attire. Think romantic silhouettes, bold details, and pieces that make you feel incredible. There is no risk of being "too" dressed up. We love a whimsical, and we love statements. Wear something memorable, have fun with it, and be true to yourself. Every shade of colour is welcome.
